I had a house blend from a local b&m. barber pole wrappers, and robustos are less than 4 bucks. Pretty good, would have been better if it was a bit dryer. I will definitely be picking up more.

Trying one of those Diesel unholy cocktails right now - curiosity got the better of me given that they are always refereed to as a decent lower cost smoke. Seems decent so far, but I guess I prefer the flavor profile of my padron millennium series for around the same price - but variety is the spice of life.


I've had the rosado, those are yummy. How was the sungrown 858? I've really enjoyed the Fuente sungrowns I've had in other vitolas and the 858 is one of my favorite sizes so it can't be bad.

I think they are a very decent stick. Worth the 6 bucks a piece or so. They are a HTF fuente (pm me if you need a source by the box). I think they are superior to the Rosado.

Perdomo Reserve 10th Anniversary Maduro (from a box pass) yesterday while making an emergency run for heating oil. Started off really nice, but I ended up letting it almost go out several times due to being busy with the diesel jugs. Plus, I got some fuel on my hands while re-starting the furnace and possibly transferred to cigar. Got really bitter and strong in the last third and purging wouldn't get rid of it all. Total time with all this was almost 2 hrs.

I have a 5er of these resting and plan to re-visit when I have more time for it.

Frank...I expected the Special Forces Original to be a lot stronger than it was. Might be due to the fact that it has been sitting for about two years and lost some of its UUMPHH!! Now the Special Forces Boot Camp are a GREAT stick...if you can find them.

Yesterday at work was a Diesel UC from a sampler purchased 10/2009. After an initial sweetness during the first 1/2 inch, it turned kind of smokehouse/?meaty? Was like eating a bag of smoked jerky! Picked up a kind of floral taste towards the last 1 1/2 inch, but had to leave it at that point due to my 1hr break being over.

The smoky jerky taste was still with me 5 hrs later. I'd probably pick up another 10 of these if I was't trying to save up for some Tat PCRs.

This had a earthy/toasty almost a nutty taste. Left me with a little bit of a dry mouth. Very close to a short story. The burn was nice.

Not my favorite, but was nice to try. I may buy a couple to hold on to and have as a gift or conversation piece.

I feel you on that. It is finally in the upper 50s and lower 60s today with no wind. It is perfect cigar smoking weather compared to what we have had recently. It just so happens it is valentines day and my girlfriend is coming over for dinner. She hates all things tobacco and since it is v-day I suppose I owe it to her to not smoke a cigar today. I normally just smoke anyways haha.

Had a 13th Floor Foundation Series Robusto last night - these are made by Willy Herrera at El Titan de Bronze. Really enjoy these, but it felt dry last night, think my beads need some more water.

Smoked a house blend from my local B&M that was hand-rolled by the in-house roller, Francisco. Very nice cigar. On the medium side with a great draw and an even burn. I like his stuff.

A Jose Marti Magnum. I really enjoy this one. Nutty, mild possibly medium carmel sweetness with spice hints on the finish, and they seem to get better as time goes on:tu

Also, made another attempt on a Padilla Habano robusto. These are just so and so (IMO). Had a box of these since 03/09 and hasn't seem to done em' any good. Maybe I can use the remainder for pin shooting:D

Went out on break after lunch with an Argenese Nicaraguan Presidente petit corona. Only managed about an inch of it, it sucked - difficult draw and reminded me of burning grass. Already had several out of the box so probably got a dud.

Tossed it and went back inside for a Cabaiguan Petit. Was much better, but was to mild a follow-up to the Argenese to fully take the taste out of my mouth. Should have just grabbed it first.
