Any outdoor lighting experts here?

One of my 'December time off' projects is out door landscape lighting. Do any of you have much experience? I want to go with LED since i'll have 8-12 lights.

HD/Lowes Malibu brand stuff vs all else?

HD usually has a light exchange program. Truthfully, I don't think there's a ton of different until you get to the LED lights which tend to be brighter
