Default Japanese Beetle Invasion.

It wasn't hard to see that something has been chomping away at the leaves. Time for action. So, a trap and three weeks later, the results are incredible. A small snapshot of what's been collected so for. 24 quart bags full like these photos show in only 3 weeks. I can see now how a bug, in numbers, can destroy vegetation quickly.

What kind of leaves were they chomping at? What kind of traps did you use?

I think the problem with these traps though is they not only attract the locals, they also get the out of towners from across the street looking for a free lunch

Funny thing, those beetles avoid Louisiana because we're host to a large population of stink bugs, which are natural predators of Japanese Beetles.

Some research indicates that any sort of baited trap apparently will attract more to the area than they will catch (worsening the effect). A ground spread or spray on your lawn that kills larva in late July and early August will actually help kill them off.

Only thing I can think of is to wrap them between two sticks with a spiderweb and find an ogre to befriend
