Mine has three fans that all make different noises.

1. The fans on the cooling units - these in combination with the coolers are the loudest

2. The fans on the humidifier chambers are the second loudest

3. Mine has a small black fan in the back that comes on to circulate the air which is almost silent.

When all three are running, the thing is pretty loud. I have gotten used to it, but in the beginning, it was a little much. My wife was not pleased. lol

We have gotten used to it, Bob also replaced a fan on mine free of charge after it got louder than normal.

My wife said the same thing on my Aristocrat, but it seems to have grown on us now

Noise? I'm surprised you can hear it run with the doors closed Mark.

You aren't just standing there with the doors open, staring.
Are you?

I'd agree it's pretty loud, I can hear mine run even when I'm not in my office. Tho it could be the wine fridge that's so loud I suppose....

When the dual cooling units on mine kick on, you can hear it in the next room. Sounds like a small tornado.

But that's okay. It just tells me all is well.

Following Dave's advice, I closed the door

For my setup (set and forget, not THC), there are two very small fans a top rail at the back of the humidor. They really do look a lot like CPU fans. The loudest noise in my unit comes from these and they are far noisier than the fans on the large humidification units.

I also plan to ask Bob Staebell about the fan specs so that I can just buy some low noise replacements. The whole experiment would only cost about $20 total, so worthwhile from my perspective.

In 36 hours, the unit is already so stable that the humidification units aren't coming on very much at all. But the noisy fans are every 20 minutes by design.

What did you end up doing about the noisy fans?
My end table is considerably smaller than your humidor, Mark. I only have one fan but when it comes on it sounds like a cow mooing.

Are you sure the sound is coming from the Aristo? Might wanna ask Nancy for her opinion!

I decided that we'd get used to it and, for the most part, we have. If it is the fan on the humidification unit, I don't think that I would replace that one.
