Default Re: New Xikar VX V-Cut

$50 is too much to spend on one IMO, but I will grab one on one of the daily deal sites then they are half that. My father in law prefers a V cut so it'll be a good gift.

I'm a big V-Cut guy. I V-Cut almost everything lately except for torpedos and perfectos. I have a couple much cheaper cutters that serve me well so dropping $50 on a Xikar may be tough since the cheaper ones that I have give me pretty solid results every time but I will never say never since I have been very happy with all of my Xikar products plus it's tough to beat the life time warranties. Once they are out for a while I will watch C-Bid and the like for one. I may have to find myself one of these Wolf cutters that has been mentioned a couple of times. To be honest I have been hoping that Xikar or Palio would come out with one but I guess it should have been expected that they would be pricier than most.

The thing with a v-cutter is that even the cheap ones almost never get too dull to make a good cut. I've had a $3.00 v-cutter for several years and it cuts the same now as the day I got it.

The V-Cut works well on a torpedo. I just put the point in and cut. If the draw is not what I want then I put the end in and cross cut another V. Works perfect. Here is a Cain torpedo V cut twice.
