what do you plan to use for air circulation?

I'd recommend a distributed approach with mesh bags (more surface area). I'd put at least a small amount in each drawer (but not each compartment of each drawer) just as a precaution.

The two big things you want to consider are:
  • Making the humidity consistent throughout. Otherwise your gauges are almost no use.
  • Have a buffer for humidity spikes. I am not sure if the spikes would start at the top or bottom of such a humidor. Perhaps someone else has an idea.
Contact Michael (cigarnut) about how he'd recommend using Shiala beads in your setup.

I have a Hydra LG inside now I was considering getting the fan kit for it, But wasn't sure if it would work with beads or just screw them up.

Keep in mind that air with a higher RH% (more humid) will rise. I take advantage of that by storing cigars I want a little dryer at the bottom. I have a similarly shaped humidor and have three hygos, one bottom, one mid and one top. A couple Oust fans would keep it a little more uniform if that is what you are going for.

Just season it up really well and throw the sticks in. You will figure out how many beads where once it settles down.

Will not screw them up. I have a Cigar Oasis and beads. The Oasis recharges the beads for me and picks up the slack when I open the door and take a half hour to pick something out.

No it will not screw them up as already noted. A hydra doesn't have to have the water tank attached, or even the main body used. I use the hydra power supply to run fans inside my edgestar. It just runs them 24/7 but hydra fans are really just cheap 2 wire computer fans that I pick up at Fry's. They are always chinese and some have gone for a month and died others are still running years later.

This is actually the setup that I was going to recommend.

Large Hydra located on the bottom and 1/2 - 1 lb of RH Beads on each shelf.

Works like a charm in most environments but may vary depending on your ambient RH and how often you open and close your cabinet or add/remove cigars.

I hope this helps.
