After see a picture of my daughter learning to cast using one of my smaller fly rods, Zack (Kayak Rat) offered to help me out with a rod better suited to her.
It was one of her favorite gifts this year Zack. Thank you! She was able to practice with it a couple of times before she and my wife left for the N.Carolina mountains yesterday, but I managed to leave the camera home both times. She is definitely looking forward to trying it out on some fish next weekend when she gets home. ![]() ![]() ![]() The rod is a TFO 9 ft 5/6 weight what has smaller grips for smaller hands. I put a Okuma SLV 5/6 larger arbor reel with a 6 weight forward floating line on it for her. I'm impressed with the way this rod casts, and the reel balances it beautifully. They get back Sat. afternoon/evening and she's already asking me to have the boat hitched up for Sunday morning. Yea baby! Again, thanks for thinking of us Zack!

No doubt. I'd bump him, but I hit my limit. I'm also hoping to get over to ya'lls neck of the woods one day to fish with him. Maybe next year.
