Is that one of those homage watches you guys were talking about at one point?

Also, what's with everyone's obsession to paint things black these days? First I saw cars with black wheels (yuck! looks dirty to me). Next I see cars with flat black paint (REALLY stupid looking if you ask me). Now black watches?

I will say 20 years ago when I was 13 I had a black and gold Seiko that I LOVED. The black paint chipped off SO fast. I was so mad.
The watches that are pvd, aren't painted black unless they aren't truly pvd. Pvd is a chemical process and it shouldn't come off easily, if at all. IIRC

That's good to know that PVD watches are more durable than my old Seiko. I still don't understand why everyone wants everything to be black. Maybe it's my low intellect but I like shiny things.

Here is a good write-up on PVD process:

http://replicawatchfaqs.blogspot.com...eposition.html

It is supposed to make a watch less apt to corrosion. It's being used more frequently in diver's watches but has made it's way into fashion watches for the "black out" look.

Most PVD watches do not look as shiny black as s15driftking's. IMO the better looking PVD watches have a sort of sandblasted treatment done first. The one that s15driftking almost looks ceramic (which some watches have been made from and Rolex has been using ceramic in it's bezel's). Stuhrling's seems to have a few models which are made to look like other popular makers, Omega, Rolex, Breitling, Hublot, etc. So I can understand the comparison.

s15driftking is your quartz or automatic? And does the 53mm measurement include the pushers and crown? I ask because it does not look that large on your wrist.

It loooks like the watch is anodized.
