I hear that is fairly common in that period (It probably was done 80-100 years ago)... To finish the floors around area rugs.

OK, so the floors are done:

Now I have to kick this Flu's ass so I can get moving on the bathroom again.
The bathroom has been a challenge so far. If anyone has ever removed a cast iron vent/soil stack from an old 2 story plaster home..... well, you know then!
