I guess city roast is best?

Tell you what we do here in the New Moo Lounge Break Area. We serve the cheap stuff. That $3.80/lb cheap-a$$ Costa Rican Hardbean over at CCM is one of the good bargains to be had and a great "learner" bean. It is large, easy to roast, makes smoke at the right times and makes fine coffee over a broad range from light to dark (not including oily); I happen to like it in the medium range, always stopping the roast no later than when pre-second crack smoke appears.
Tastes and opinions will differ but nobody can say their low-priced CR Taz isn't good, and a good bargain to boot.
