She may actually have a case. If the school made specific promises and failed to fulfill them, then they may be liable. Not all things are as they seem. These kinds of "news" reports are made to sensationalize and elicit reactions and page hits.

Some schools guarantee job placement assistance. Some schools (especially trade schools) guarantee lifetime job placement assistance.
