With this series, it doesn't really matter. You can pick up anywhere on Star Trek. I would steer clear of the third season if you're just starting out. The third season had some "different" stories, some not so good.

WOW! Quite the resurrection of an old thread!
Before your response, Starscream last posted 12 years ago.
Looks like ActionAndy hasn't signed in since 2013. Hopefully by now, he has seen the whole series!
Anyway, one of my favorites has always been "Court Martial." Thought it was one of Shatner's best. Hope all is well with you!
