Might want to consider powder coating instead. More durable, and a relatively comparable price.

Less than 10$ to powder coat something?

Some people won't even look at things for less than 10$ these days

Depends on the market. I did a quick google search for powder coat prices and found a couple sites that charge by the piece. Cheapest I saw was $5.

I did a little research (very little) on this because that was my first thought as well. But, since powder coating is applied electrostatically and is then cured under heat to allow it to flow and form a "skin" and most of us do not have the means to do this, I thought it was a lost cause. You can purchase spray paint that claims to be "powder coating", but it's just not the same and IMO no better than regular spray paint.
