Well I no sooner get the thing home, pull it out of the case and one of the little "BOTL" decorative things falls in the yard (which i can't find). Is this common? Regardless, cut my stick very nicely. Was just curious if these fall off all the time or did I get a "bum" one?

I've heard of them falling off before, they are just glued on. That's where Palio's warranty is king; go back to where it was purchased and they will give you a replacement on the spot.
