That is really high, what are you using as a humidifier?

To answer you question, I would leave it open for a few hours then close it for an hour or two, and repeat until the humidity comes down around 70. Then I would leave it closed without a humidifier until it is in the mid 60's or whatever humidity you are shooting for.
