Honduras is a very poor country, but the people are friendly. Roatan's bread & butter industry is tourism so they want to make sure you enjoy yourself. The local seafood is great, the Flor de Cana rum is cheap, and there are guys on the beach who will sell you the finest in counterfeit Cohibas.
