First you have to start or join a clan of three or more people.
Then there are four day periods that "Clan Wars" take place.
You are matched up against 7 other similar clans to compete for the four days.
The goal is to win as many gametypes (Called "Nodes") as possible and keep them at the end of the four days. A gametype will be listed with an amount of wins required to capture the node. For example TDM might be 250 wins to capture. Once a clan gets 250 wins that node is captured and the remaining 7 teams must try to take it away from you. If you have 6 clan members playing in a game and you win, you get 6 wins. One win for each clan member. It is complicated but adds another dimension to the game.
Me and my close friends competed in a clan war with a 60+ person clan (IPC - I play COD) a week ago and since it is a large clan with a bunch of people who didn't even play, we finished 5th out of 8. I am in a small clan now, with a bunch of active players, hopefully we have a better outcome.

I am mentally exhausted after trying to explain this...
