Congrats on both.
Never owned a Great Dane but my next door neighbor did. I spent a lot of time with him. Great dogs. As for advice, yeah: Get a BIG pooper scooper. Get him housebroken ASAP as otherwise, you'll remind me of the joke, read "Yellow River", by I P Daily. Buy the BIG bags of food, often.  Kidding aside, enjoy the new puppy and new friend for life.
