Mexican food around/south of the boulevard. I can at least get you started.
If you want a place more "upscale" that's on the boulevard, I would suggest El Patron. Very very tasty food there. Best Mole I've had.

If you want something "authentic" (street tacos), I would go south of the boulevard (just off n. 7th st trafficway) in kansas city ks. The name of the place I suggest is El pollo rey. They only do chicken. The chicken is done over a wood fire, so it's lightly smoked and very good. They give you spanish rice, beans, tortillas, and pickled onions with the meal to build your own tacos. Delicious.

Go to Jack Stack BBQ on 22nd. Get the burnt ends and brisket combo.
Then go to Arthur Bryants the next night and have the same.
Tell us which one you liked better.
And enjoy some of the best BBQ you will find anywhere.
