I'm not exactly a wood worker, but a part of me wonders if you could take some sand paper and sand down the silicone you just added once it hardens, so it's not so messy looking.

Not exactly sure, as I bought it for 200 bucks on Craigslist. But this is pretty close. It has different shelving, but the structure is the same.

There's two types of a similar cabinet humidor.
One has drawers in the middle, one doesn't. Cabinet Humidor w/o drawers I have the version with drawers. I kinda did the same thing as Scott, although only on the glass and along the back. |

Lol...probably because you didn't buy it from a guy who had it sitting in his storage locker and have to transport it 2 hours in the back of a station wagon. That kind of stuff doesn't do great things for joints.
I love the size of it and the convenience of being able to see the ones I want and grab them. The angled shelves make it difficult to fit tons in there but I love the visual aspect of them.
