Lucas wrote scripts for part 7-9 a long time ago. Hopefully they follow them.

Harrison Ford said he'd never do another Star Wars film, but money talks. I'd love to see the original cast in the new films, even if they are minor roles. Hey, the old cast worked for the Star Trek films. Why not have the original three Star Wars cast reprise their roles? Mark Hammil is still younger than Christopher Lee and Alec Guiness at this point. Carrie Fisher and Ford could be diplomats in the new films, since they are too old to be the focal points of the action.

Michael Arndt will be penning the script for the new Star Wars movie.

Harrison Ford hated/hates the Han Solo charatcter (it's why he was frozen in carbonite at the end of ESB; he had only signed on to do two films and was reluctant to do a third so Lucas needed a way to explain Solo's absence in case he didn't participate in ROJ).

Just ran across this in an article claiming that Harrison Ford has said he is interested in the new movies.

Pretty interesting attention to detail there

It's actually pretty cool. Good time waster. It's obviously a gimmick, but an easy way to burn some time if you're bored in line, or something.

That's really interesting. Why did he hate the character so much? I could google it, but I'd rather hear it from someone who knows it themselves.

Solo is a pretty flat character. Also, he thought the character had pretty much served the films' purpose and wouldn't be very relevent for future films after Empire. Ford wanted more challenging work from what I remember, but he has shown interest in reprising his role of late.

Anyone who's read a few of the Star War novels (and I'm not necessarily recommending one do so ) knows that the Han Solo character does develop more depth . . . if anything in this universe has any true depth.

I agree completely, but as far as the original trilogy went...

Sort of a similar situation with the Nimoy "Spock" character in the first three Trek films. Nimoy was only in half of the first film, got killed off in the second, and was resurrected in the third due to character issues (and a contract dispute).
