Ask as many questions as you need to, Andy. It's really pretty easy, but the more you know, the more fun it is.
Make sure to root around at Yahoo, too. When you go to the main (league page), check the link to scoring and settings up top on the right. That's basically all the "rules". If not rules, it kinda tells you how this all works. If there are any terms or categories you don't fully understand, please ask. Someone will certainly help. After the draft, you'll need to know how to pick up free agents from waivers. You can see that stuff by going to the "Players" tab on the league page. It's really very simple. You'll also need to learn how to set up your team for the week. Some days you'll have guys that don't play. You'll want to put your bench guys in for those guys. You can set your line-ups for 5 or 6 days ahead. The system won't tell when you're pitchers will be starting until like 3 days before their start. That's because no one knows what the rotation will look like in four or five days, all they could do is guess. Once you get the hang of it, it only takes a cup of coffee to check your team, and you really only have to check it every few days unless you're super hard-core or really enjoy it. I enjoy it. And I'm super hard-core. ![]()

There's a minimum number of innings (40) a team has to pitch or they forfeit their wins for the week. I always wondered if that means you'd lose all the stats from your pitchers, and it does not. It's just W's. A guy could use all closer and middle relief and keep their era and whip down, win saves, and be in real good shape for the week if he didn't even pitch a starter, so I always wondered why that rule is even in place. But it is.

I'm going to see if I can correct it on my end and see if I can set it right. When I talked to you last night you should have known you'd lose W's for not meeting the minimum innings pitched, I'd have beat you 10-8-2 instead of 9-9-2, correct? I never even looked at your innings pitched or I'd have rubbed your nose in it last night. ![]() Apparently 5 guys didn't meet the minimum innings pitched. It appears I can't make an adjustment for just this week, or change the team scores. If I change minimum innings pitched to zero, it'lll fix this week, but it says it'll take 24 hours to show up. When I change it back to 40, I expect it'll just change the scores back. I am truly sorry, and I hope you'll all forgive me on this. I went and searched the rules for future use... Head-to-Head Leagues In all Public Leagues, the active members of a pitching staff must throw at least seven (7) total innings each week. Should a staff fail to meet this requirement, that team will automatically lose all five of the pitching matchups. Custom Leagues default to the Public League settings, but the limits are configurable. The maximum and actual games played information for your team is available by clicking on The minimum innings pitched information for your team link in the table at the bottom of your team page. If a manager chooses to add/drop pitchers on a daily basis in order to maximize their innings pitched totals, this does not represent a violation of league rules or fair play guidelines. Head-to-Head leagues do, however, feature an innings pitched minimum. This total must be reached each week. Failure to accumulate the minimum number of innings will result in forfeiture of all pitching categories for the week. If both teams fail to reach the minimum, both teams will receive ties in all pitching categories.
