But, not to pour cold water on your joke, you youngsters may wish to know that The Twist was a Hank Ballard song released in 1959, and covered by Chubby Checker in 1960, when the dance craze inspired by Chubby's cover first began. And yeah, I was there, so I did not depend upon my failing memory to recall this.
