Not really, you just pull apart at the seam in the middle. Then you push them together to close it back up. But it does kind of snap back.

So happy i got that 009 punch, I love that cut!

Right on brother I need to pull the trigger on a punch, but for $5 at my B&M I always think of another cigar I can buy for that price heh.
