What did you drink last night?

Water. I had blood drawn this morning and for some strange reason they don't want you drinking 24 hours prior.

I was excited to pick up some straight Rye from the store last night as well as some sweet vermouth and my go-to cheap bourbon (Benchmark).

I've been getting into Manhattans lately, and saw that Rye is the way to go rather than bourbon. Sure enough - delicious! Not sure if it's "correct" or not, but I found I still prefer the dry vermouth over sweet. Perhaps I'm refining my recipe - 3oz Rye, .5oz dry vermouth, two splashes of bitters.

At the S.H.I.T. herf last night, I enjoyed two fingers of Old Overholt straight rye whiskey bottled from the 1970's. What a treat!!!!!

Smuttynose Pumpkin Ale. Not my favorite, but it was dark and I couldn't tell which one I grabbed.

A couple of bottles of Limited Release Woodchuck Cider Oak Aged. It went down way too easy. Not a manly drink, but I really liked it. Plus the liquor store was out of Basil Hayden's Bourbon which I wanted to try.

It was a good night, I had:

2 glasses of French Rose'
2 glasses of Pilastri Sangiovese
16 ounces of sugar free Red Bull
2 pitchers of Red Sangria
1 snifter Glenlivet 21 yr. Archive
Shot of Buffalo Trace
3 glasses Zenato Ripassa Valpolicella.
1 very good night's sleep.
