Cutter all day for me. I used to use a punch when I first started, but the tar build up was a big turn-off.

I use a punch mostly because I don't have a good cutter yet. I plan to pick-up a Palio soon. I use a punch on almost everything except torps.
Punch works great unless what Mac said happens.

I love the punch but for reasons stated above I like the cutter as a better option.

+1 for me. I stick with cutters. Just ordered a precision cutter, in fact.
