It only lights about 1/2 the time. Sometimes it flames, then goes out. Other times there's no spark.

Can it be fixed or do I have to send it back?

What brand of fuel are you using?

Ronson Mulit-Fill butane. Should I try something else?

Now the damn thing works again. How do I know when it's full of butane? Or do I just fill it for few seconds and call it done.

Ronson has a lubricate in it specially for ronson that can gum up other lighters, try Vector or Xikar, and it should only take a second or two to fill it.

Have you tried hitting it with compressed air (I've used butane in a pinch, too). There could be something down in there keeping it from firing up consistently.
