What you've been smoking are very mild tobaccos, even the Mac Baren VF is a light Virginia. You need to try tobaccos with more body and zest. There are dozens of them out there, but I'll name a few that should get you on the right track for more full bodied blends. Try any and/or all of the following:

Samuel Gawith - Full Virginia Flake
Samuel Gawith - 1792 Flake
Rattray's - 3 Noggins
Tavern Tobacco - Thunder Road
G.L. Pease - Abington
G.L. Pease Charring Cross
Dan Tobacco - Midnight Ride
Cornell & Diehl - Mississippi Mud
Cornell & Diehl - Briar Fox
Butera - Kingfisher
McClelland - Dominican Glory Maduro
