Here's the best way I've ever heard it told:

You want your computer to do what you tell it to do.
With a windows machine, you have to worry about the thing getting too infected to to do what you tell it.
Linux requires you to teach it how to do everything you want,
and apple does what you tell it to.

My favorite combo, is an apple main computer with a Linux machine on the side for play.

And with an iPhone, you have to worry about the alarm clock not working. Seriously, Steve can't program an alarm clock? Epic fail.

I used my alarm everyday when I was working and never had a problem. I sense user error

The one Apple product I have now is my iPhone, and I love it! Have had a number of iPod's over the years also.
