AWESOME!
How'd the swim leg go? I think I remember you being a bit concerned about that. The swim is always the most concerning part for me, but I know I just need to relax and trust all the work I've put in while training.
As Laura mentioned, I've become a triathlete, myself. Got HOOKED after my first one...last year. I've done 5 so far, and will do as many as I can for as long as I can. I'd love to be 70 and still doing them.

I did do an international length this year. Was a great challenge, even though it didn't go as well as I had hoped it would (went a bit off course on the swim and bonked on the run), but I finished.
Having a road bike for tris isn't a big deal...that's what I have (Trek 1.2). Only thing I'd suggest is looking for aerobars. Got some on my bike this year, and it made a big difference in my comfort level on the bike.
The goal next year is a half ironman (Chisago Lakes in late July). I'll do a few sprints, as well, but I'm looking forward to the challenge of a half iron race.
Maybe we need to have a CA triathlon team. Finish the run with cigars (not necessarily lit).
And isn't that first cigar and beer AWESOME after you finish? They both taste SO good to me.
