But the main character's wife is already giving it up to the guy's buddy? I mean, I know she probably assumes her husband is dead, but hasn't it only been a matter of weeks? Sheesh -- where's the greiving period?

That was the main character's wife and son?? I figured it was the family of the buddy. That would be very strange.

It was absolutely his wife and kid. In the scene immediately after the woman is kissing the guy in the tent, it cuts to the patrol car the main character is driving and he pulls down the visor to show a photo of him with his wife & kid.

I got the feeling that those 2 have been going at it since BEFORE the zombie outbreak. The first scene was the 2 buddies talking about how bad Ricks marriage was. Makes perfect sense that it was his partner boning his wife.
