My 9 year old Palio was a little loose as the detent wasn't as stiff as it should be after so many years of service, so I took it into a local B&M and they switched it out for a new one without a problem (after opening and closing mine a couple of times).

My old Palio still got the job done all the way until I exchanged it and it served me well for 9 years and many, many cuts. Here is pic of my 9 yr old Palio a few weeks before I exchanged it, followed by the new Palio.

if my $35 cutter broke down after 9 years I would just buy a new one and not have it replaced

Well, technically it didn't break (still usable, just not in great shape) but 9 years falls within the Palio lifetime warranty.

Yeah, but still, I wouldn't return it and have it replaced after 9 years, I would have just bought a new one

Nice to know. I'm sure a company would appreciate someone who would buy a new product instead using their warranty but I have no problem using the company's provided warranty.

Maybe if it were an 8 year warranty I would agree with you, but that lifetime warranty part puts us on different sides of this issue. I certainly appreciate a company that stands directly behind their product...forever. With that being the case, I've been looking at other Palio products (the new lighter, fancier cutter) as I appreciate the quality of their cutter and witnessed 1st hand how they stand behind it.

Chit! I lost mine last year - don't really know how as I can trace nearly every step of the night I last remember seeing it last. Been using an old bullet punch since then and a knock-off for the torpedoes. Been pretty satisfied with the bullet, so haven't been in a big rush for a replacement. I'll get another (or 3) one day. Love the Palio! I bet that 9-year old is lots better than my knock-off.

Just want to say ever since I got mine I plan on never buying a different cutter again...

Now just have to save up so I can buy one of their lighters...
