I use a cutter about 95% of the time. The exceptions are large ring gauge cigars that seem to be underfilled slightly.

I love the way a punched cigar feels vs a cut, and I haven't really experienced the tar build up that others around here have. That's just personal preference though, I can't really say specifically what I like about it, it's just feel.

I cut 99% of the time. I have a Palio but I have a cheap punch, so you see why i cut more.

I prefer the draw from a cut, but I don't have a decent cutter yet, so I only use it on torpedos. I can't get a clean cut on other shapes. I asked for a xi3 for Christmas

I've been using strictly a cutter for awhile but recently picked up a punch after using Bill86's a couple weeks ago. I'm really enjoy the punch now but my cutter was cheap and that may have something to do with it.

I am a fan of punch. I use to use a cutter, but for some reason when I tried the punch cutter I made a new friend. I love the way the draw is with it, every so often I will use a cutter.

I have a punch in my car as a backup, but I don't remember the last time I used it. I use my Palio most of the time, and occasionally break out my Xikar v-cut when the mood strikes me.

Smoke me if you can...

Since you asked... I use both but it depends greatly on the ring gauge of the cigar or how much smoke and flavor I derive from the brand of cigar. I prefer a cutter but I have clippers, punch, v-cutter, guillotine, and xi-car cutters and generally use the xi-car first and the punch secondarily. You say you don't know what you're talking about but I think you know what you like and why you like it, so that is the rule that I follow too. The most important part is you know what you enjoy. With the Drew cigar I would use the V-cutter to put a nice notch at teh end of the cigar versus a punch, but it's all good. ![]() Go for it and enjoy 8-{b}
