I am in the never to very rarely category. If I come back to a smoke that I have let sit for a few minutes I will purge, other than that I usually have no need.

It depends on the cigar. Sometimes I never purge. Sometimes I do after several puffs or touch-ups when I'm trying to get more flavor out of the cigar.

I would say that I purge only about 25% of the cigars I smoke. Most don't need to. And if they do, it's almost always when it's near the end. I'll do it most often on a cigar that I've been really enjoying and am getting down to the nub. I can still get a few more great puffs in before I let it die.
If I'm purging a cigar in the middle or earlier, my next move is usually to toss it.
