Not sure where you're staying, but give this a look if you can swing it..
Close enough to South Beach, but also far enough when you want it to be. http://www.marriott.com/hotels/trave...marquis-miami/ Not sure where you're eating, but I wouldn't miss Versailles on Calle Ocho.
