I started P90x again yesterday, after stopping to focus on weight training for the last 6 months or so. Looking forward to Plyo this afternoon.

Not losing as much weight as I thought. Gaining muscle however, not dropping too many actual pounds. Will have to follow the diet a bit more strictly.

Figured I would bump this thread, as I have read through it probably 8 times in the last 2 months.
Toward the end of the summer (beach season), I decided it was time for me to get serious about getting rid of the excess baggage I was carrying. No, not my wife ![]() All I can say is the program definitely works! I am a big guy, about 6'-5" and am generally athletic. When I started the program 30 days ago, I weighed in at 302.2 lbs. ![]() I didn't want to post in the thread until I had some results in hand, but to everyone who contributed to this thread, especially Gerard, thank you. It's always great to read about other's experiences especially when they are people you know, even though in most cases, only through the forum. ![]() My goal for the 90 days is to lose a total of 40 lbs. Fat comes off in layers, so for now, that is my only goal. If I don't reach it, I'm not going to be discouraged. I know that it is getting me in a lot better shape. 30 days down, 60 days to go. ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() I'm glad you got such positive results in the first 30 days. As your metabolism gets ramped up and you gain overall strength, you'll see the "magic" happen in weeks 10-13. Keep it up!

We were doing the program before our trip to Greece, and my wife developed achilles tendonitis. I LOVED the yoga. That was awesome. Loved the balance it provided, and I felt that my flexibility was increasing, which is a key for my triathlons. And yes, even though I was in shape from my summer races, the plyo still kicked my ass. I hope we can get back into it once she's healed. We were seeing some differences, but I was not following the diet plan. I'm not a dieter, so I'll just eat what I want.
Good luck to everyone doing it! |

![]() Let me know if you want a hybrid program that incorporates both Insanity & P90x; I have one I finished a few months ago. It's not doubles, though!

Ab Ripper X is soooo much harder on Legs and Back day. Wednesday, I was feeling all good about myself. Today? Not so much!
![]() Gerard, I picked up some Endurox R4 recovery drink (I think that's what you used). Two questions if you don't mind... it calls for two scoops, did you use two? And what did you do with the nasty floating cottage cheese looking stuff after it's mixed? I scoop it out, as it really is nasty!!! ![]() I tried a buddy's Gatorade recovery shake. It was a lot smoother and tasted fine. I might try that after I'm through the Endurox. The ratio isn't 4:1, more like 2.5:1 though. Feeling good near the end of week 6. Down about 25 pounds. ![]() |

![]() Hmm, I never had any problems with the Endurox--just used 1 scoop to 8 oz water, and whisked/shook it up real good. The only time I doubled dosage was when I did an Insanity workout, but those were burning 800+ calories/hour, so I needed it. Nice job on the weightloss! ![]()

Day 60 update:
Weighed myself this morning, and I'm down 33.8 lbs since starting the program!!!! ![]() I've definitely noticed appreciable increases strength and endurance while doing the workouts. Yesterday I did shoulders and arms for the first time since phase 1, and had to bump up pretty much all of my weight. Eating right, working out 6 days a week. This program rocks. ![]() My problem with the Endurox was that I was stirring it instead of shaking it. After switching to a tupperware shaking container, the consistency of the drink became waaaaay better. |

I have completed 90 day P90X Lean routine, and I am incredibly happy, and even surprised at the results. In 90 days (well, 88 really) I've lost 50.2 pounds. Yes, five-oh. I am truly astounded. Seven inches off my waist. Holy crap.
I'm fitting in gifted clothes that I've never worn...punching holes in belts I've had for ten years...and feeling great. Anyone who is considering P90X, I highly recommend it. Now, a week's respite with the family in Disney (hence the accelerated last week), return for the Holidays...continue exercising and eating well, and start a round of the Classic version in late January/early February to get ready for the summer. I might just start it sooner I enjoyed it so much. |

I started my second 90 day cycle today, doing the Classic version as intended. In the month I haven't been training, I've continued eating right (for the most part - Christmas and New Year parties....
![]() ![]() I'm amazed how a much a little time off can effect rep counts. Nothing drastic, but I hoped to be able to match where I left off in the first workout. Close, but not quite the same. I definitely struggled with ab ripper more than I thought, but I hunted on Saturday, assigning myself "designated driver" and if you have ever hunted through briars, reeds, cattails, etc., it's like doing dozens and dozens of different exercises. Crawling through the briars actually reminded me of dive bomber pushups. ![]() Good stuff...already looking forward to working out tomorrow. ![]() |
