I'm having a little trouble finding a 40x40x10mm 3.3v 2 wire fan anywhere - does anyone have a source?
Thanks!

It's actually for a studio light, the original fan wore out.

I already have a 5v fan and it won't spin up, as it needs more voltage - how would a resistor work?

The point is I didn't need to drop, I needed more.
The situation has changed though - somehow I misread the voltage from the rail and it's actually putting out 16v. I have NO idea how I read 3.2 before. Anyway, I put in a 7805 voltage regulator that brought it down to 5v, but the fan still doesn't spin up for some reason, not sure why. It just jumps for a moment. I tried a larger 12v fan and it spins fine, so I'm just going to stop in at compusa and get a smaller 12v fan to fit. The 5v fan tested ok, it spins on AA cells fine.
