Haven't been there for many years but besides sports at the local universities (don't forget FAMU, they've got the best marching band in the world bar none) the gulf is close. You might try a trip down highway 98 for sightseeing and seafood. It's an old article but I bet you'd still find some mentioned places "
Getting a Taste Of 'Slow' Food Along the Gulf" Lots of good golf courses around there too. FSU has a first class theater/music/ballet department and there is Maclay state gardens. Unlike Gainesville, Tallahassee can have a small town feel to it though. Hell, Gainesville is only a few miles from Micanopy and everyone knows that's a happening place.....
