On some pipes and some tobacs I tend to over driving the heat. I find I do it more with the lower nicotine blends. Maybe I am just trying to pull in more nic. I came back to pipes after 7 years...

Hot Weather Pipe Smoking
This morning the outside temp at 8am was 88* (with humidity feels like 93*)
All today the no rain no wind temp was in the upper 90's where I live. (over 100* with humidity)

I do notice that the alligator is a bit open in sucking smoke. It is like the passage is too big. I think they intended you to use that balsa wood filter thingy.
