Running Music

What do you guys like to listen to when running? I've been running again on the treadmill for a few weeks now, just 2-3 miles per run. I need some new tunes to put on my run playlist.

I find songs that match the rhythm that I'm running to, mostly music that has a BPM to a 10 min mile.

I really need to setup a playlist with music that matches my speed. I find that on plain ole random I get too many slow songs that bring my pace down. Anyone know of a program that'll determine a song's BPM?

As for me, I listen to a lot of prog rock/metal, Gary Hoey, Paul Gilbert, Steve Vai, Slipknot, BLS. Found the latest Symphony X album sets a good pace.

I"m such an idiot sometimes. Simple google search turned up lots of free programs. There's one for the Iphone that looks pretty good. Gonna give it a try.

Not that I know of, but I would like to know as well.

Jake, just do a google search for "bpm counter". It'll bring up lots of programs you can download that'll determine the BPM. You just need to tap the screen/mouse/keyboard for a few seconds to determine the BPM. I'm downloading one right now to my phone.

The only thing I can hear when I am running is my brain saying "STOP running! WHY are you running?!". ;)

THIS. Fellow dubstep fan here. Skrillex/BassNectar/UFP/Chrispy. Mainly stuff I find on Youtube since I have only discovered it in the past few months. LOVE it.

No idea why someone would run for fun, only time I run is if someone is chasing me or if I (god forbid) have to chase someone :r

I guess Chariots of Fire would be a good one :lr

Re: Running Music

Itunes has a Lance Armstrong running mix that's pretty good for doing a few miles worth of intervals. The music isn't the best, mostly pop stuff, but the BPM's are good for running. For distance running, anything with around 180 BPM is good.

Since this thread is a bit old, what have you all found since posting?
