Slow and steady wins the race. Glad you're still on track. When others notice that you are losing weight, it makes you feel good, doesn't it?

That is one of the greatest feelings in the world, and was one of the most powerful motivating factors for me. I still see people that have not seen me since I started the process, and it just makes the rest of your day better anytime you hear it!

Keep up the good work guys :tu

Just did a three mile ride w/ my kids (only one, the six yr old, could hang w/ me for all three). That relieved some stress after a long day at work. Hopefully it'll help w/ tomorrow's weigh in, but I doubt it. I've been hanging around the 242/243 mark all week.:(

Second week with no loss. Can't seem to get past this 242 mark. I have gotta shake things up here, but can't seem to find the energy or the will power to do so. Between work, two online classes, church, grading papers, and household chores, I just can't devote too much time to exercise. Or the time I do get I am exhausted and need to relax for a bit. I am enjoying this bicycle riding, but it's not enough. Sunday splurge days hurt me somewhat, and still getting used to no meat right now has thrown me off a little too.

I've also heard that we also have natural weights that will take a great deal of effort to get past. If I can't get lower than 230, but can remain active and eating healthy, I'll be happy enough.

Remember this post, Ian? This is what I'm dealing with right now.

I haven't been posting much because I have sucked wind on my plan lately and I don't feel good about it. I worked out the first couple of days this week but not today. I am also giving up alcohol for a while to see if that will help.

Gotta get back on track!!!

working out and eating right have been a pain for me this past month. with the layoffs and cut backs, my schedule is all over the f-in place. couple of weeks of swing, some day and a few double backs here and there, i'm barely functioning.

Hey AS,

Looks like several of us are dealing with it. With a time demanding schedule it's harder to keep on track. Probably because of available energy levels and quick food.

Maybe you need a heavy bag. You'd be amazed how relaxing that can be and how much you can burn from it. Especially if you start throwing in kicks and knees.

SG, as a Scotch-a-holic I can't condone giving up alcohol...but I can see your point. There are a fair few calories there and if it also leads to snacking on stuff other than carrots of celery, then it does double damage.

On the WW program, drinks count as points, so you just work then into the system and deal with them accordingly.

I weigh in tomorrow and I think I'm back on track to where I was a couple of weeks ago. Most of the junk food is out of the house now and I'm back to the climbing gym with greater frequency.

Keep you heads up and your chins down gentlemen.:salute:

I do not think I could ever give up meat for more then a few days, and I can imagine that it might lead me to overeating other things.

Are you actively allowing yourself to have a splurge day every week? It seems like several of you are having bad weeks after you post about a splurge night. I know that it is very difficult to do when you are eating out or cooking large meals at home, but I strongly urge you to try to avoid "letting" yourself have nights off. I found over the course of last year that anytime I let myself have a free day, I would start to get more slack on watching everything else, and it would just snowball to a very poor week.

As for those of you that are feeling stuck.. keep with it! I was stuck trying to break thru the 200lbs mark for 6 weeks. It got depressing, but when I finally got there it was a great feeling.

I will plug the med ball workout again too. It only takes 20 minutes to run thru a set and it is a great core body workout. Wokring thru it with no breaks even gets you into a bit of cardio range as well.

Yes, WW allows extra points each week for a splurge night. You can use all of your extra points in one day, or you can use them throughout the week. But they recommend that you use them up by the end of the week.

Thanks for the encouraging words, Dan.:tu

Alrighty. I will just add that the entire time I was doing the WW program I did not actively try to use up extra points. If I had a few points left over every day for the week I considered that a bonus! I did my best to maintain my intake for the entire week, then I would allow a splurge every few weeks.. Usually in the form of a night out drinking =\ An important addition tho, is that I never starved myself or anything silly like that to reduce my points intake.

I never thought I would see 200lbs again when I was sitting up at 250 either :tu Took me about 8-9 months to shed it all. Certainly not a fast process!

Normally I don't go out of my way to use up those points either. But under my current circumstances, I'm looking forward to those splurge days, at least until Easter gets here.

I am so ashamed of myself (not really). Will consider getting back "on the wagon" tomorrow morning.

Cheers to you all

That's what I hear, anyways. No pain, no gain.;)

I got in some exercise last night, not much, but some.
Played kickball at church with the 1st and 2nd grade class. Then we played dodgeball and tag. Upon returning to the house, my middle child and I went for a 2.2 mile ride on the bicycles.
Dinner was a 12" veggie sub, some Sun Chips, and later I had two slices of light bread with olive oil and a cup of peanuts.

Congrats on hitting below the 240 mark, Ian!:wo

I have a feeling that I'm gonna gain this week. Last night I had veggie lo mein and veggie chow mein. I'm going to the beach today and spending the weekend there w/ the wife and w/o the kids. I've got a feeling I'm gonna eat good and do little exercise while at the beach.

If I don't gain weight this week, something is dead wrong. I hit the all-you-can-eat seafood buffet Sunday. Oysters Rockefeller, steamed muscles, New Foundland Special, Crab Imperial, crab legs, fried oysters, crawfish, peanut butter pie...

Anyway, I took the weekend off to celebrate. I even had some alcohol too (first time in over two months). Gonna brace myself for a gain when I weigh in Wednesday, and get back on the bandwagon.

I have been introduced to a new world: Veggie substitutes. Boca Burgersand veggie sausage links do not taste like meat at all, but they are not bad. Boca burgers are especially good on the grill.

Tomorrow is weigh in day. I weighed in yesterday and this morning at 242 still. Maybe I was more active than I thought over the weekend.

119?! Either that's a typo or you're really skinny, Cyanide. :r As for your offer, I'm not too sure about that... Yet..

Weather has been absolute crap so going out an jogging hasn't happened (need to get myself some waterproof running clothing). So on the weigh-in yesterday my weight was still 209 pounds. Guess that's a good sign, at least I didn't gain in the interim.

Official weigh in was still at 242 today. Not bad considering the weekend I spent being a glutton. If I ever get committed to working out again, I'll start losing some weight. I've been at 242 for three weeks now. No gain is not bad, but it's time to break through the 240 barrier.

Not gaining is still a victory. I'm not sure how I'll do tomorrow. My brother's GF moved the scale into their en-suite, so I don't get to it to check up as often.

I just hope JJujutsu tonight will make up for the Wendy's last night.

First, let me just say that reading through this was quite amusing. You guys are a riot.

I'll write up a nice huge intro for the next post....

So far, down 10 lbs the first week :D, up 2.6 the next :(.
Due for weigh-in on Friday morn, week 3. And I haven't been able to 'fit' exercising in yet.

No, I'm not bragging, but once I throw out the other info about me, you'll understand. (I could compete with 'The Biggest Losers' if I didn't have to work for a living)

I keep losing weight........ but it keeps finding me, and brings new friends too..........

Thanks for the welcome.
Problem right now is the wife bought the 10" plates instead of the 8" this time. Believe me, this makes a huge difference!

I'll tell you all this much though... We now have a scale at the house.
We went town to the IKEA just so that I could get one cheap, as normally they either don't go high enough or are wicked wicked expensive if they do.

The last time we dieted, I was down by about 80 pounds, and was HUGELY proud of this accomplishment.
One rear-ender later and I became sedentary for 6 months, and have gained it all back. Here we are, 2 years later, and I’m back to overflowing my largest pants, and regular knees aches. It’s time.

My goal? Let’s start with getting below 300, and in shape.
That'll beat the last try.

(Friday allows me to be easier on weekends and get days to recover... heh heh....)

For the first time ever, the wifey agreed to going to a Chinese Buffet. She usually is against these, but she got a 'good referral' for the place, and our kid egged her into it.

Big mistake.

Big, big mistake.

I had a big plate of Sushi (which is more of a filler), and a full plate of dinner. A little more dinner, and topped of with a plate of desserts....

I know I still have too much food in my intestines to read acurrate but damn.

If you do change your weigh-in day, make sure you keep it at that day for a while. Changing your weigh-in date regularly gives you inaccurate readings as to your true progress.

Its funny, sometimes when I miss a number of workouts I actually lose some weight. Providing I get back "on the wagon" without too much delay I also manage to maintain the accomplishment.

Over the last 3 days I have not been to the gym at all. That type of behaviour is usually only reserved for holidays. Anyway, I weighed in this morning just to see how much I was going to pay for my sloth. It turns out, I was at 218, the lightest I have been in 8-9 years. I better get back to the gym tomorrow morning or I might balloon up to 227!

Got some arm work in last night.
Also had a good meal too. Garlic linguine (sp) noodles and garlic bread. As Pee-Wee Herman would say "Mmmmm, Garlicy".
I also discovered a new snack, Pita Bites Garlic and Chives. Looking back on last night's consumption, it would seem as if I'm trying to keep the vampires away.
