Re: Losing Weight with Andysutherland

Spent a couple of hours at the climbing gym today. I had a big supper at a great Italian restaurant, but tried to keep it sensible.

I should be on track for a small loss this week, but better than the last couple of weigh-ins.

Gotta keep active.:bx

Finally had a better week.

Dropped 2.6.

I'm hitting the climbing gym again this evening, and on Saturday. I'm starting to add assisted pull ups (easier to get more reps) and push ups to the end of my sessions. I've been feeling that for the last couple of days, but it's a good feeling.

Now I just need to keep the eating under a bit of control this weekend and I may see another drop next week.

Awesome, Ian! 2.6 is a good loss. Keep it up.

Hopefully gonna have lambchops tonight. Never had lamb before. I hear it's good.

I think I overdid it yesterday w/ three peices of lamb, a whole lot of oven roasted potatoes, and cheese biscuits (the ones like Red Lobster has). Haven't done much exercise at all this week. I'm not sure I'm looking forward to the weigh-in on Monday.

today was my first weigh in day on WW, total weight loss 3.9 LBS, not bad for a week, and doing little to zero exercise

Re: Losing Weight with Andysutherland

No loss for me this week. Still at 205, but I ain't complainin'. Here's a good recipe for my fellow low-carbers (or if you just like a good chili):

Texas Chili (modified from 6 Ingredients or Less: Low Carb Cooking):

2 lbs lean ground beef
1 cup chopped onions
2 small green peppers chopped
1 28oz can diced tomatoes
1 small can diced green chilis
1 1/2 tbsp chili powder
2 tsp salt

Brown ground beef and onions; drain. Place in slow cooker along with remaining ingrediants. Cover; cook on LOW 4 to 5 hours.

Let me tell you, this is some good stuff right here. Made enough to last me all week, throw on some reduced-fat cheddar and you gots a good meal.

I may have to give this recipe a try since I am in need of another stash of chili. Think I will probably try it with ground turkey to make it even better for me. Ive been slipping lately and hit up to my 'panic' weight so I have jumped back into dieting mode

You mean in WW? It depends on your starting weight. I can't remember the ranges right now.

Good job. If you add the exercise in, you'll see greater losses in the long run.

I used 96/4 lean ground beef and there was very, very little fat. It'll probably be good with ground turkey too.

Weigh-in is tomorrow. I feel that I ate a lot over the weekend, but probably not as bad as I think I did. Nonetheless I'm gonna cheat and take a system cleansing pill for the weigh-in tomorrow. I weighed in this morning and am still at 247. I was at 245 twice this week, but the official weigh-in is always on Mondays for me. I've not done any exercise this week whatsoever, except walk one mile on Tuesday. Gonna pull one hour of exercise tonight before bed. Hopefully I'll be down at least one pound for the week.

Alright, I'm checking in w/ my final workout for Week 5. Completed 30min of high intensity (:bs version of kickboxing) and then walked two miles for the second 30min. I'm done with my homework for my online courses, I've gotten my exercise in for the day, now to go over some lesson plans for tomorrow and hope to see at least a pound loss in the morning. (and hoping the system cleaner works before the weigh-in).

Week 5 end result: No change
No loss, no gain. Mad about today's weigh-in, but I saw it coming a mile away. I'm determined and focused for the upcoming week 6. Just did 30 minutes of cardio. Hope to get some walking in this evening too.
Breakfast was the usual cinamon sugar oatmeal.
Lunch was skipped today. As soon as school was over, I came home and did the 30min. Now am having a peanut butter protein shake.
Tonight's dinner is chicken of some sort.

Overall, week 5 was not great, but week 6 is looking damn good right about now.

No gain is always a winner (at least that's what everybody tells me. I don't feel like a winner today).

Well, I'm down to 214 which is a good drop. Though, I don't know if that's from muscle loss (since I now don't have a gym to work out at so it's all walking nowadays) or actual fat loss. But, it's a loss. Will have to see how it looks going ahead.

How long have you been w/o the gym? I don't think you can lose muscle as quick as you lose fat. Congrats on the loss.:tu

Going on nearly three weeks. But yeah, imagine if I keep it up it'll sort itself out in a good way.

Been awhile since I checked in. Still at 205, didn't do so well on my diet this weekend. Didn't drink enough water, didn't stick to my eating schedule, and didn't workout. Didn't overeat or eat anything too bad for me, but still didn't stick to my routine.

Did workout tonight - 45min.

Breakfast - 2 scrambled eggs in a whole wheat tortilla
Lunch & Dinner - Chicken and salsa with low-fat refried beans

Instant, Perry. The cinammon sugar covers up the badness that is instant though.

Congrats on the loss!:tu Keep it up.

For those of you that do not have easy access to a gym you might think about giving this a try on the off days. http://www.menshealth.com/cda/articl...0013281eac____

Its a GREAT core body workout and it throws in some other major muscles as well, and it only takes about 20 minutes to do one set (which is all I ever manage) It will probably be very difficult at first but as the soreness goes away it gets easier:D I started with a 8lbs ball but had already been doing lifting etc, so I might suggest a 6lbs ball

Week 6, Day 2
No exercise in yesterday. I'm sore from the previous day. Did get some yardwork in and playing w/ the kids though.
Spaghetti and french wheat bread for dinner.

Week 6, Day 2
Breakfast: Oatmeal
Lunch: nothing/sunflower seeds
Dinner: 12" of some sort from Subway and some baked chips
Hope to leave as soon as the bell rings at 3:00 and get in some exercise before dinner/church.

Still feeling positive about this week so far.

Starscream 02-12-2009 07:18 AM

Re: Losing Weight with Andysutherland

Yesterday was tiring.
I walked two miles after school.
Then I had a 12" chicken teryaki sub from Subway.
Went to church and played "Train Wreck" with the kids for 45 min. straight. If that's not exercise, I don't know what is.

Have lots of homework to do tonight. I hope to fit in some exercise/cardio in somewhere.

Yeesh!!!

The best I could do was no change on the weigh in this week. I had to wait until I used the washroom a couple of times to get that.

Next week will be better. I have 2 days of ice climbing coming up this weekend, and more climbing at the gym next week. :ze (looks close enough to a pull up)

Just need to keep better control of my eating along with that.

I seem to be the opposite of y'all. I stick to my diet for the most part, but the exercise is my problem. I have done well w/ exercise this week though. Yesterday was the only day that I didn't get in any exercise. Gonna get in some cardio or high intensity today. Good luck fellas!

Only three more days till weigh-in. Gotta stay focused over the weekend.:bx

Unless you ate like a horse all week, a four pound gain is tough to do. There's more to that somewhere. Hope you figure it out w/ another weigh-in tomorrow.

Trying out something new for breakfast: peanut butter/banana protein shake.
I had a little too much for dinner last night: baked chicken, three helpings of wild rice a roni, oven roasted potatoes, and one and a half lobster tails. No workout yesterday. Gotta get it in my routine this week.

Gained to pounds so far this week. This damn cold is preventing me from exercising. I feel too drained to do anything.

kayaker 02-19-2009 11:55 AM

Re: Losing Weight with Andysutherland

A little gain while sick is nothing to be ashamed of. Concentrate on getting well and you'll get the extra off when you are better.

I managed out good on my weigh in today. Down 2 from last week and just shy of 10 lbs gone in total. That's pretty good, but ~235 is normal for me. The hard part will be going below 230 and staying there.
