Re: My RNY and my New Life

Sorry for such a stupid question, but is it true that you cant drink alot of beer or carbonated drinks after having weight loss surgery?

*This really is a serious question and I am not trying to be funny.

NeuRon 02-14-2012 04:47 PM

Re: My RNY and my New Life

it is true, Travis.... all carbonated beverages are not reccomended for RNY patients, since the carbonation fills you up and can upset your pouch... Since i do not drink much soda, that part did not affect me much, However, i do miss being able to put away 20 beers without a hiccup, lol..

But having said that, that part of my life is behind me.. It is that part of my life that has put my life into disarray in the first place. I am happy with my small portions and such nowadays..

Fact of the matter is, i can still enjoy a beer sparingly.. Its "recommended" to not drink carbonation.. I had 1 the other day,and it took me about 90 minutes to finish, but i still enjoyed it. probably more than any other beer ive ever had.. lol..

So, I'm curious, what exactly is a meal replacement?

Congratulations on your success, so far! It's a heck of a thing! Good luck with all your future goals, you've gotten past the hardest part. Everything else will come easier!

A screeching halt?! C'mon brother, you've lost a TON of weight. You can't possibly let yourself get down if you plateau for a minute. You are killin' it, Ronnie. :banger

you are right.. it just gets frustrating.. i actually gained like 1.5lbs, and then it seemed like it took forever to get it back to 226. lol.. but its ok. i cant let the "numbers game" kill me..

i guess its because im SO close to my goal.. other then that, im winning the war.. thanks for the encouragement guys!
