I propose we set up a blind study. Anyone know where we can obtain some samples?

Well, if you do, stay away from the brains. Cannibal cultures develop a lot of diseases from eating brains--perhaps this is why humans have a natural aversion to eating their own?

I doubt I'd be able to eat anyone close to me, even in a survival situation. If it was just some random ock who happened to be with us when we got snowed in, sure, I doubt I'd have much hesitation there.

Two good cannibal movies: Alive, Ravenous. There's also another film about the rugby players called Stranded: I've Come From a Plane That Crashed in the Mountains. That's more of a documentary I believe.

I can't imagine an ancient elder would taste all that good though, probably very sinewy.

I take hypotheticals pretty seriously...anyone remember my mad rich guy with a tiger question? :)

Andy, Alive was based upon the book of the same name about the rugby players who crashed in the Andes Mountains. Stranded was a later movie about the same thing andwas somewhat of a ripoff of Alive. There were a couple more that I can't think of. I intentionally selected a meat donor who may not have a brain.

Or a good meat tenderizing mallet.

I'm actually amazed more of you would not eat someone in a survival situation.

Hell, survival is the highest law in my book.

That wasnt the question though D... the question was if we were visiting somewhere where it was part of thier culture to eat thier dead.

If im stuck on a downed plane in the middle of the Andes, then pass the plate :tu

I have a whole list of things that ours and other cultures eat routinely that I would not touch - this just makes the list longer -

So umm - no.

If it involves me staying alive then reluctantly I'd probably eat. If it was about another countrys culture ( where might this be in case I mistakenly travel there ) I'd say I would not partake of eating of the dead. Conversely if she were to be a Playboy Bunny and were very much alive and I,,,,,nevermind, this just got weird.
