Try lowering the weight and really concentrating on squeezing the biceps.

I have always been lucky that I can just look at my biceps and they grow. If only all the muscle groups were as cooperative. ;)

On a serious note you could try slowing things down and really focus on the range of motion and feeling tension between the whole exercise

Took the day off from lifting ... just cardio in the morning. Back hitting the iron tomorrow. Gonna try some new exercises and test out what works and what hurts. Need to be sure to get some good lifting in before next week (when I travel for a week+).

Word.

Let it be known that Gerry instructed me to take a month off from any upper body lifting or lifting that implicated the upper body (i.e., deadlifts). In response to my reticence to follow such instruction, Gerry has washed his hands of any decision that does not conform to said instruction.

There.

I like Gerrys opinion, but I think you need to find out what hurts and what doesnt..This will help find out what you can do to make the shoulder better

That is almost exactly what I told him on the phone today. I'll be taking two weeks off for business travel and thanksgiving, btw.

Fine session. Did some shoulder rehab exercises and fooled around with different movements to see what hurt and what didn't. Turns out that even after a warmup, the right shoulder pops 1/2 way down on a flat bench press. Any kind of rotation (i.e., arm bent at elbow with forearm 90 degrees to my chest) going from front to up (e.g., with a Cuban rotation) hurts.

Deadlifts felt nice today, though. :) That stretch on my shoulder doesn't feel bad at all. In fact, it feels a little good. Now, if I tried to shrug it at the top, then I'd be in some trouble.

Today is my first day trying ON Pro Complex, too, FWIW.

Have a good lifting day, folks!!!!! :ze
