Suprised at how strong I felt on shoulders doing them after heavy chest today, but I earned an extra day off Saturday (going to Soundgarden Friday nght and have to work Saturday), so I am happy.

Soundgarden should be awesome!!! I had my day off last night, chest and arms tonight. Arms and shoulders are a bit shot at the moment, snow blower $hit the bed the other night and had to shovel the driveway today. Brutal!!!

The soreness will come and my chest and arms feel useless to me today but its expected. my normal routine was 2 days of lifting then a rest day of just cardio. give my body plenty of healing time and its the system i know works for me. well off to the gym for my 40 minutes of cardio day. :tu |

I'm also checking in and going to keep tabs on this thread. Right now my goal is to get in good physical shape for the summer since I'm going to be training the new guys here at the Academy. Heavy lifting and body weight exercises are going great for me, but boy do I need to start running!
I did "Pull" day today. Back, lats, biceps, and traps. |

Chest felt great today. 6x8 225 on flat, 6x8 85lb incline db, cable flys, and finished it off with some weighted dips. Did some triceps as well, but not a whole lot since the chest was shot after dips.
Legs tomorrow, going to let my back rest another day. |

Decided to leave work early last night. Dragged Staci to the gym and we hit legs. It was a nice but grueling day. Hitting back today and tonight I will hit arms. 2 straight days of double days, tomorrow will be my day off. |

Sweeett a workout thread.....
Quick background I am 6'4 ...245 lbs mostly solid mass Played college ball at UCLA and was the number 4 linebacker recruit in 1998.... I just came back from the gym...ran for 45 mins then did a quick 25 mjn workout 8 sets of one arm pull ups 15x each arm 600 pushups...sets of 6 ...100 straght per set 500 crunches 15 mins of jumprope with 15 sec rest between every minute I stopped lifting heavy the last 4 months because i was at 265 and my clothes fit a little to tight and I was looking to bulky...doing more of the Hershel Walker routine till summer time Google " David Melo Taft football" if your interested in football Keep staying healthy fellas staying healthy is good for the soul and mind Laters |

Did you end up making the team, David? I can't find you on the UCLA rosters in '98 or '99.
120 one arm pull-ups with each arm is pretty damned impressive....I would struggle to get 120 with both arms. :r |

BTW...I found a trick out a while ago to strengthen my upper back tremendously that allowed me to perform the one arms shortly after. Get two towels and put one right next to your inner part of your hand on both sides. Do as many regular pull ups you can do normally.. right before you feel like you can't do anymore grab the towels and hang literally until you loose all strength and grip. I rested 5 mins between sets. After a few months of doing so every 3 days, you should be good :)

Hey all, I've been slowly weening myself off caffeine over the past couple of weeks, and now I'm completely caffeine free. My body just became too sensitive to its effects. I have half a container of N.O. Xplode 2.0 Lemon Flavor (about 25 servings). If anyone wants it, just shoot me a PM with your mailing info and I'll send it to you. I don't want to see it go to waste, and wanted to offer it one of the inmates before giving it away.

Took today off and taking tomorrow off to give my left shoulder some time to heal. Hit chest and triceps hard yesterday. Starting to see some gains and recovery time is getting better now that I have been able to be more consistent.

Had a nice day off yesterday... I would like to consider yesterday a "bulking" day or pretty much a I eat whatever the hell I want day lol. After doing 2 a days Monday and Tueaday, I just felt like I needed a day off.
We just adopted a dog, she's been crying all morning and I am now fully awake. Shoulder day.... Thank you new dog for waking me up. |

Shoulders and traps for me today....elbow feels to worse for the wear after going up to 455 on the shrugs. Suprised I had the gas after my late hockey game last night. |

Hit back, biceps, and traps today. 225x12, 10, 10, 8 for bent over rows is finally starting feel light after a couple of weeks of slowly increasing the rep count. Also hit 95x12,10,10,8 on the curls...spring break is coming up after all :)
On another note, I'm loving M-Stak (day 2), really makes me feel strong and focused. Tom your package is en route! |

Been doing the Strong lifts 5X5 workout for about 3 weeks now. Its a pretty interesting workout. The squats are getting easier despite the weight going up. my form is getting better and making them easier to do.
The workout is based on 5 diff. lifts: squat, bench press, dead lift, barbell shoulder press, bent over rows. everything is 5 sets of 5 reps, except for dead lifts, its only 1 set of 5 reps. Day 1 is squats, bench, and rows. day 2 is squats, press, and dead lift. workouts are every monday, wednesday, and friday. Every day you you increase your weight 5 pounds, except for the dead lifts, you increase by 10 pounds. Its a pretty good workout to get strong and gain muscle. if you want more info, go to stronglifts.com |

Back for me. Bent over rows to 325 for 6. T-bar rows to 295 for 10. Cable rows (super wide, shoulder width and close grip). Finished with a couple sets of pull-ups and hanging to failure. |
