At 47 and haven't worked out in over 10 years, I started back 4 months ago and I am really happy with my progress...went from 150 on the bench to 275-6 times and see and feel a huge difference. Amazing the memory your muscles have....I think my wife even likes the progress!!!

Back day tomorrow after giving my shoulder some rest. Feels better the last couple days, but pretty sure this is just something I will need to deal with and/or work around for good now.

Hey... I want samples too! These guys already are huge... I'm still small!

Being double jointed in my shoulder can cause some really crappy problems... like when I'm holding weight and it pops out of socket. Ugh. Happened again 2 days ago but, luckily, didn't hurt myself too bad...

No kidding

My right shoulder creeks like an old rocking chair when I do pull up's. One of my favorite exercises has been off my routine since last year...

Yup, my left shoulder has both "weighlifter's shoulder" and rotator cuff issues now. Chest and deltoid days are such a pleasure now. :r

Speaking of shoulders, just got done. My partner and I had to get in a quick workout, shortest workout I've had but very nice.

DB presses
Smith machine, behind the neck presses
Upright row
Single arm lat raises

GeRRy, where are Toms, Dans and my samples? :r

Just finished my work week with arms. Killed it today. 2 scoops of Nitraflex will do the trick.

Tried quite a few, Huy, but always looking for something that works for me. Right now I cycle between:

CL White Flood
Hemo-rage Ultra
Jack3d (old formula)

So is it like an amped up version of espresso (which is my pre-workout "supplement") or is it a different beast altogether? Anything to worry about when taking stuff like that, Huy? I've never tried any pre-workout thing thus far... aside from espresso, that is... :)

I'm not much of a expresso drinker, caffeine doesn't do much for me. Honestly, Dan. Taking PWO is liking opening Pandoras box, if I could go back in time I would not take it. I depend on with every workout, or I'll just feel like I didn't have a good work out. I don't believe/know if there's anything to worry about other than the jittery/meth like feeling. I can give you a small sample if you like... since geRRy is MIA.

So I decided that I needed to split my leg days because I just can't do deads and squats on the same day. I want to concentrate on quads and hamstrings separately because they are such big muscle groups.

Re: Pumping Iron with Zemekone and Icehog3

Hit a big P.R. and milestone tonight. Finally hit 225 on the barbell bench press for the first time...for 10 reps, followed by 225x 8, 225x6, 225x5! I've only been using dumbbells this whole time and help with my stability and form.

Feels really good to progress this far, considering 135 was a real challenge for me a little over a year ago. I don't really care what my numbers are... as long as I see them go up over time, I can be happy!

I clicked this thread by mistake on my way to icehog's fat slob banter.
While I'm here, I may as well drop a healthy tip. Buy the fun size Snickers. You can eat a whole bag of those without any guilt because they're little and they metabolize a lot faster.
I love you guys. Carry on, please.

Switched up my chest routine, went for higher reps (10-12) with lower weight. Think I'll do this for the next few weeks. Felt pretty good.

But... I'm getting so weak... starting to look like this guy. Help me geRRy!!!!!

Tom's picture killed this thread...

Got 205 up on flat bench twice last week, picked up 215 and it felt like I was trying to bench a Volvo. I should be able to get that within a month, I hope... then on to 225... the goal I thought unattainable... :)

By the way, still weighing in at 150 (sometimes creeping close to 155).

In two weeks go right for the 225 even if you fail, skip the 215. You can do it!

I'm soooo sore and out of it. Back is sore, chest is still sore and today is leg day. Looks like 3 scoops of 1,3. :cf1

GeRRy, I looked at the straight taurine at my buddies shop, but I really don't want to take it in the pill form, I'm sure I can find it in a powder form elsewhere.

Maybe the 215 once, killed you? Might want to try warming up on treadmill some and do the same routine sans the 215. I bet you can taste the 2 plates a side!

Re: Pumping Iron with Zemekone and Icehog3

Klller back workout today. Supersetted heavy T-bar rows with moderate weight bent over rows, then bodyweight pullups. Heavy cable rows, dumbbell rows, and one last superset going heavy on the bent over rows and moderate on the T-bar.

Only thing that could have made it better would have been samples from geRRy. :D

Tried a new PWO today, Beast. It was pretty good actually.

Killed it with arms and abs today. My whole body is sore, haven't been like this in a while. Feels good though.

Re: Pumping Iron with Zemekone and Icehog3

Question:

What recommendation(s) do you have for a good fat burning supplement that has been working for you (besides diet)?

Adriftpanda 11-19-2012 03:38 AM

Re: Pumping Iron with Zemekone and Icehog3

Are you looking to work out as well or have you been working out? In all honesty Mark. I don't recommend taking anything, but that's just me. I'm a firm believer in a clean diet and exercise, and you should see results in no time. Less calories in and more calories out will help with your weight (if that's your goal). I started around 220 and dropped about 45lb in less than 8 months, with proper nutrition and training.

Again, this is me and this is what worked best for me. One thing you have to remember about dieting and getting back in shape is, it's a process and you just have to be patient with it. Your body will not change over night. Hope that's any sort of help to you.

I think geRRy hates you, Tom. He gave me soooo many PWO samples and even gave me a couple bottles of jack3d. He told me not to tell you because he didn't want to hurt your feelings. :=:
