Killed backs today, man it felt good. Weighted pull ups are easily the most effective back work outs for me.

When I traveled to Thailand before I met my wife, I used to work out at Universe Gym in Pattaya. Part owner was Dennis James, another massive guy and would see him there working out. No A/C, 98 degres, some fans going, hot like hell, but one hell of a work and I would drink 2 bottles of water.

Shoulders and abs yesterday.

Sat in the sauna afterwards for about 15 min, that sucked.

Did arms today. Super sets work best for me when it comes to arms.

Struggle today, but made to the gym. If it wasn't for the fact that my wife had me take the dog to the groomer, not sure I would have gone. Feel better that did, just tired, long work week.
30 min cardio
Shoulders

I think I'd be interested in trying something like that, not sure how I'd react to it, though. Do any places have single serve sample packs of it or anything? I'd hate to buy a tub of it and not be able to use it...

Maybe not Jack3d because it has been banned by the FDA because of an ingredient named 1,3 dymethylamylamine (SP) or DMAA. Almost, if not all products that contain the DMAA has been banned.

But there are still products out there that do not contain any DMAA and still work fine.

Just hit the gym last night (Chest, tri, shoulder) and tonight (Leg, Abs) after getting surgery a week ago. It felt good, but went a little easier than normal so as to not rip any stitches. Luckily, the incision (which is only a couple of inches long) is healing quickly.

Legs yesterday... being pretty new to deads, I felt my understanding of the movement and my form was good... they felt 'right'. Glad to be able to add those into my routine.

Back to the gym today, and back it was. Heavy T-Bar rows, high rep Bent Over Rows and some pull-up work....good day back, pun intended. :ze

Depends on what you bought. ;)

Chest day today....Heavy inclines, moderate, high-rep flat bench and weighted dips.

2 hockey games tonight, tomorrow will be a light day in the gym.

"Pull" day...Upper back and lats, biceps, and traps. Went heavy on the Pull downs and barbell rows. Trying to move away from straight bicep curls and work bis using compound exercises.

Well my lower back decided to freak out last week. Doc thinks I might have a stone and that is causing the lower back pain, yuk. Not sure I want to be right, but don't need this to be 2 separate issues. Going to try and get some cardio in tonight after work, but no weights.

Hope you recover fast, Jay.

Had a nice workout week. 120 db row 4x6 was the highlight of my week, never thought I could do that much but surprised the crap out of myself. Started on a new prework out, Nitraflex. Stuff works I tell ya. 2 days to rest up. Herf day!

The big jump from 195 is really 225. Doing two plates a side is the start of the next level.

If you can 200 without much fanfare, get ready for 225 ASAP, within two weeks you should be able to do it once based on what I have read so far.

2 weeks, eh? I don't know... that's a good amount of weight for a guy my size. That said, it's been my "far and away" goal for a while. I will be quite happy if/when I put that up.

I just wanted to pop in and share with you guys who directed me to the delicious rocky road flavored ON whey protein (Tom, mostly) that I branched out and ordered the limited release chocolate coconut recently and it is AWESOME! Highly recommended. It has great flavor and good consistency, even in water.

Do you keep you legs elevated during bench or on the ground? It's really important not curve your back or squirm around even if it's a negative impact on your max attempt.

I assume you'll use (or better be using) a spot on your attempt. I remember in high school is when I first lift 225 and was about a week from my 205 bench.

Make sure to warm up. Walk 10 minutes at 3.5 mph on treadmill. Do a set with 135 (10-12 reps). A "gauge your potential lift" with 185 and then go for it. Even if the spot does a significant amount to help, at least mentally you went through it and know how much more you'll need to do to clean on your own merit.

Glad you're diggin' the ON, Colin. I have tried a couple new flavors (Cake Batter, for instance), but still love the RR best. Not going to try the limited release, though, don't care for the taste of coconut. :)

I am very careful to make sure my form is good and part of that is keeping my back straight and not using my legs, although I do keep them on the ground when I lift heavier weights.

I use a spotter when I get up to and over 175... I hate getting stuck under weight...

Did deads yesterday... 3rd time ever doing them, did 225... I think I'll be able to get a little better once I get more used to using those muscles. I felt like I did them properly form-wise, though... no sore back today... :)

Too risky for me. Even though the reward is big from doing them, one bad lift can set you back 2+ months... 225 is a lot to dead lift considering where you are with benching... Be careful, can't stress that enough.

My chiropractor has made some good money off of people doing dead lifts, but the even bigger one to avoid is the kettle ball. This is a big money maker for him. He says he's just about to hand out a business card to anyone doing it in the gym. Kettle ball took me out for over 2 months. Sciatic pain was unreal after just the slightest form change...

I'm out for a while. Tried to play golf while in Montana and f-ck my back up good. Been out of work this whole week taking meds and still not right. It's better than when I got back to the Island, but far from good. Never had back issues before, Father Time is catching up with me. This sucks.......
