Re: Pumping Iron with Zemekone and Icehog3
Tried the Muscle Marinade for the first time today. They recommended doing 1/2 scoop the first time, so I did a scoop and a half. ;)
Good workout, good pump, lots of sweat. Didn't make my heart race at all like some have described. I will put it in the rotation for a while and see how it fares in the long haul. |
Re: Pumping Iron with Zemekone and Icehog3
I have been off preworkout supps for almost a 9 months now... anyone have any favorites or suggestions?

Re: Pumping Iron with Zemekone and Icehog3
Rob, seems to me that somehow they depend on body chemistry. I have some that work for me, but not for my friends at the gym, and vice versa. That being said, the ones in my rotation that work best for me are:
Creative Labs White Flood Nutrex Hemo-Rage Utra USP Labs Jack3d |

Hope any of the ones I recommended work for you if you try them. :)

Re: Pumping Iron with Zemekone and Icehog3
Nitric oxide has always worked well for me it works well stacked with creatine but I prefer it without the creatine. The original N02 by MRI is great but pricey. I use the GNC powder much cheaper and more servings per container. Gives a great pump!

Re: Pumping Iron with Zemekone and Icehog3
Took too much N'Sane today, the scoops are big already but decided to take an extra scoop and damn did it did wonders.
Been switching from that and Jack 3D and from time to time using 1MR. Chest/abs today. Super sets: Incline DB press 4x10 - Incline DB flys Flat DB press 4x10 Pec dec 4x12,10,8,8 with rest pause. |
Re: Pumping Iron with Zemekone and Icehog3

Re: Pumping Iron with Zemekone and Icehog3
Lets rant for a minute. A co-worker is always coming to me for advice on lifting, actually before I go there this cat is over weight and fails to acknowledge that his eating habits are horrible at best. Anyway he's always coming to me talking about the newest supplement he's trying but refuses to go to the gym unless someone is pushing him to do so. After his lack of gains wants to tell me about how hit routine isn't working and he needs supplement x,y,z when really all he needs is a solid diet and needs to actually go to the gym. Stacking protein with a thermogenic is pretty counter productive when your already 10lbs over weight. I don't even know how to address him anymore without flat out saying, your doing it wrong bro.
|
Re: Pumping Iron with Zemekone and Icehog3
Tell him that, Ken, maybe it will give him the push he needs.
Took today off to let my lower back loosen up, skating tonight helped. I may take one more day off, I have another game tomorrow...hoping if I do, it will be near 100% by Saturday. |
Re: Pumping Iron with Zemekone and Icehog3
I would always put routine and dedication over suppliments and science. Weight lifting is about... lifting weights; not powder shakes. Not saying they don't play a part, but that is not the main course - so to speak.

Gross. Her calves are bigger than my thighs...yes I have skinny legs. I'm working on that.

Re: Pumping Iron with Zemekone and Icehog3
Gross?
Oh, Andrew....maybe we can help you out at the Shack. :r |
Re: Pumping Iron with Zemekone and Icehog3
Well, more so the thighs. Thighs that huge are not attractive to me. Her's are way too....unfeminine.

After years of not going to the gym, Monday was my first day back. Started eating low fat foods to help manage gout 4 weeks ago and have lost 10 lbs so far and no gout issues so far.

Re: Pumping Iron with Zemekone and Icehog3
Ran the PFE (Physical Fitness Evaluation) today, which consists of push ups, sit ups, and and mile and a half run. Gave it my all, but now I'm exhausted!

Re: Pumping Iron with Zemekone and Icehog3
Sooo, a bacon cheese burger, chili cheese fries and a milk shake 20 minutes before the chest day at the gym....not a good idea.

Heavy shoulder day today. Started doing the "Four Up Four Down" program off Flexonline.com (last week of it) and I saw a huge improvement all around. Shoulders and legs especially. 6 rep max was 80lb DB press and now I'm up to 90lb DB press. 6 rep max for squat went from 315 to 350. |
Re: Pumping Iron with Zemekone and Icehog3
Nice gains, Huy....gotta love legal PEDs. :)

Re: Pumping Iron with Zemekone and Icehog3
Completed my 3rd week of going back into the gym, taking it slow and easy at this point. Moving up real slow as not to trigger old injury in my left elbow. I have lost a solid 15 lbs so far, so far so good:)

I was running low on a few supplements so I stocked up. When things started showing up I laughed and called myself a meathead. Snapped a photo of what all arrived on one day last week because of the absurdity (and no, more stuff showed up later that week :r).

Re: Pumping Iron with Zemekone and Icehog3
Ideas for dumbbell/bodyweight exercises to develop lower chest? I am already doing the following chest circuit X 3, but feel most of the burn in upper chest and top/outer edge of the pectoralis. I do not want to turn out like the freaks with pointy pecs.
Standard Pushup x 30 Incline bench - 45lb dumbell X 10 Wide pushup X 30 Flat Bench - 45lb dumbell X 10 Flat bench dumbell Flys I need to get those 50LB Dumbells. |

Decline presses are the most common lower chest exercise, but I am not fan of them. |
Re: Pumping Iron with Zemekone and Icehog3
I am working out at home, so I do not have parallel bars. I may try the kitchen counter. I am not a fan of declines either. I always slide down the bench.
Nope....kitchen counter wont work. No room to lean in. |

First day with a personal trainer... learned a few new things (one of which being that close grip presses and EMOM gasses you QUICK). Cool stuff, but I wouldn't want to do them without a spotter because it seems easy to get stuck.
