Really feel like I trashed (in a good way) my pecs, going to do something similiar for back tomorrow. If the gains come steady, I will tweak the workouts as I go along to be truer to the DC profile....just tough to lower the volume so much after so many years, but I am trying to give it a go.

This past week I've been adding the extreme stretching to my current workout and I noticed a big difference. Plus I wanted to get acquainted with the smith machines in case I have to use one. Thinking I'm going to start a full DC program today. It is going to be very weird having such a short workout.

While I wasn't ready to fight Chara within 5 days, I do feel like there has already been significant improvement after about 12 days, Moses. I am going to keep with it a while and hope for even more. I have also been using a Cho-Pat brace for the tendonitis in my bicep, and the combination has healed the tendon about 75% so far, I would say. Thank you again for the supplement recommendation.

Looking forward to hearing how your results go on full DC, Son.

I'm actually hoping I won't have to use smith machines all that often. I got a classmate that wants to workout with me but I've gone through that song and dance many times :td

The one aspect I'm excited for is "beating the logbook". Makes working out a lot more interesting week to week.

Re: Pumping Iron with Zemekone and Icehog3

I agree about the logbook, haven't used one for decades but it might actually be motivating for me at this point.

You may want to change your tune on the Smith machine, Son. Doing the working set of 8, 15 breaths, 4, 15 breaths. 2 might be a b!tch on, say, incline press or seated military press using the olympic bar alone. ;)

And you were completely right. Today I did incline bench on the smith machine and it saved my life. There would have been no way I could have done that with free weights. Seated military press was fine, I did it with dumbbells.

The sensation of stretching after going so heavy was very nice. It must release more endorphins because it felt so good. Or I just discovered I love pain :lr

Well.. news from the "little sisters of the poor" (me)....

Still have a regimen to stay fit vs become a monster like you folks.

175 Push ups in the morning
Hour on the airdyne in the evening
180 crunches with a variety of arm isometrics during
175 Push ups in the evening.

Cant do the leg lifts or sit ups due to the broken ribs for a few more weeks.

Probably as "fit" as I have been since HS. Thinking about joining a gym but just thinking about it, the "routine" I have is pretty optimal time wise in that there is no travel or set-up time involved.

Got back to the low 180's after the Holiday binge and lack of exercise due to the broken ribs for a couple weeks.. so happy about things. Being happy about whatever program you are on seems the most important thing.

Not a fan of SuperPump, though I will say that different people have different results, think body chemistry and tolerance to caffeine plays a role.

Things that have worked better for me:

Creative Labs White Flood
Nutrex Hemo Rage Ultra
BPI Sports 1.M.R
USPlabs Jack3d (never had any problems)

Some early success with BSN NoExplode, but I seem to get used to it very quickly.

Agree with ice on that one but just a word of caution. If you are in any type of environment where you could possibly be drug tested, do NOT take Jack3d; You will test positive for methamphetamine. Left SuperPump250 and SizeOn(they changed their mixture, it's not as good as it used to be) and hopped on Cellucor's C4 Extreme while taking in some GNC BCAA's during workout and ANS Powermaxx for protien after. Happy with the results thus far.

I haven't really gotten a good stretch on my back by hanging with weight tied to me. Maybe I need more weight :hm Last time did it with 55 pounds. I'll try more next time..

I think I did something to my wrist though :( Swelled up a few hours after benching heavy. Iced, heated, bengayed and repeated still hurts like hell and I definitely do not have full range of motion. It hurt a little while I was benching but as soon as I was done it went away. It was weird that all of a sudden it just came later on.

Hopefully just a little tendon strain, Son?

I am doing the back stretching with as wide as a grip as I can get, and using a neutral grip as well. After a couple stretches to failure, I grip a horizontal stationary bar one arm at a time and pull my lat until is is completely stretched and on the verge of cramping. I seem to keep the lat pump for hours after that.

That's what I'm thinking. It should be better after some rest. I feel like I'm falling apart!

I've been doing the same for lat stretching, and I definitely get a better stretch when I do each side. I'll go wider and more weight next lat stretching session.

Just got in some new supplements today. Never tried a pre-workout so I bought the DS Craze, also some Controlled Labs TRIad vitamins. Still using the BSN Syntha-6 as it's about the only good tasting protein I've found to date.

We'll see how they work. Giving the CRAZE a try right now, already starting to feel quite the energy boost 28 minutes in...another 12 and will see where I am at.

Doesn't taste great but it seems to be quite potent.

Curious to hear how the Craze works, Bill, I haven't seen that one.

Optimum Nutrition (ON) Gold Standard Whey in Rocky Road flavor...tastes great even in water, and is a quality protein source. :tu

Noted. So far, and I don't work out nearly as much as some of you guys :D, I noticed a gain in reps. I'd say an extra 2-3 reps, I took the lowest dosage and I'll admit today I am exceptionally tired. Much better form too as I don't feel so tired and lazy.

I also noted a huge gain in focus, concentration and energy. Kinda feel a similar buzz to heavy dosages of caffeine or a bit of :al Without any headaches or dizzyness. It will definitely push me to being dead tired and feeling all kinds of overworked tomorrow.

I've never used a prework out before so YMMV but now I'm pretty sold on riding this one out and seeing where it takes me.

I ordered from Bodybuilding.com, which has free shipping right now, so it was $32 for 45 servings. It's a $49 minimum, but I ordered the vitamins too so I cleared that. I'm not taking 6 a day though, that's ridiculous :r It says you need to drink a gallon + of water a day so I figure cutting down the dosage will mean less water. I probably come close to that but not clearing it by a great margin.

I was able to train bi's hard today for the first time in several weeks, the supplement Moses suggested and the use of the tendon brace seem to have healed my bi to a great extent. I will continue to use both to try and get the healing process complete. Didn't do the DC workout for bi's though, that would be pushing it a bit too hard, me thinks. Back to DC training on Tuesday.

Tried Craze on the elliptical today. My usual duration was 15 minutes and I was spent. Did 30 minutes today, 1.3 miles. Still feel really good, I was able go much faster as well.

First "repeated" workout today since starting the DogCrap program, and I was able to beat my previous workout, which is the goal. Added 15 pounds to incline bench and got the same amount of reps in the supersets to failure. I know eventually it will have to plateau, but right now it is motivating, fun, and providing good results.
